IMAGICA offers a variety of services
related to d-cinema, and we are always ready to
answer your needs.

Encoding
Collaborating with our vendors, IMAGICA started the encoding services
for MPEG2 and wavelet based Qubit (QPE™: Quality-Priority Encoding
) at the early stage of their technological development. Looking ahead,
we will continue working with each of our vendors to perform verification
and create services for you in connection with DCI's final specifications
JPEG2000 and 4K digital cinema capability, which are due to arrive in the
near future.

IMAGICA can encrypt the HD data converted
for mastering with our “HOKUSAI” DI service
or HD telecine, using the DCI-specified MXF
file format. Additionally, we can accurately
manage distribution and key logging, based
on our long-term relationships with film
distribution companies and theaters.
Moreover,
our company has established a secure environment
that ensures the trust needed to handle
this type of DSM (Digital Source Master).
For example, we can respond to an urgent
request such as the conversion of an encrypted
DCP to plain text and the addition of data. |

IMAGICA has independently developed “JIMUAKU-YA,” which
creates spotting data to superimpose subtitles onto prints.
This allows us to meet special needs unique to our Japanese
customers, since we can now easily produce the complicated
subtitles unique to the Japanese language, including the
vertical display of subtitles, addition of small kana characters
next to traditional kanji (Chinese) characters, and the
use of traditional fonts used in Japan for many years. We
can even provide instant conversion to XML files to allow
subtitling for digital cinema, as well as output to image
files such as PNG.
