Digital Intermediate (DI)
DI is becoming the mainstream in movie production, especially
in Hollywood. IMAGICA opened a new suite called “HOKUSAI”
last April, to provide with a total DI service, including
film scanning, color correction and film recording.
In terms of definition of DI, people have their own
opinions respectively though, ours is simple; to keep
information as film has and handle this in RGB at more
than 2K resolution. Based on this concept, we built
the work-flow in each category.

IMAGICA has experienced of 70 years film lab service and this is the basic resource to use these latest equipment. Staff, who grades color on digital content, has deep knowledge of film and our own developed CMS “Galette” has guarantee the one source ? multi use environment. Without these know-how and technology, we would not have achieved the digital intermediate service.
